I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that’s real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt

I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar’s chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt

I will let you down
I will make you hurt

If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

Johnny Cash : American IV: The Man Comes Around

So I’ve been somewhat anti-social lately. I’ve been hiding behind the “I’m busy … had shit to do” facade for a while. I’ve been called on it. I’ll admit it. I just haven’t felt terribly social as of late.

But sitting at home has some perks to it. I get more time to think. Having lived in CowTown this last year without TV and cable has put me behind the times and current events. So I now get to read up.

Every now and then, I’ll come across some readings that really get to me. Sometimes I just get outraged by how unfair life can be.

Sometimes you come across people that speak out, as John Cusack has. I’ve always been a fan of his … but now I respect him even more. Hell, I might even go country.

I normally try to be somewhat quiet about world politics. After all, they are pretty much areas much beyond one’s control.

But …

When you have those around you being complete assholes … as a friend … if may be time for you to speak up. Slap some sense into him/her.

I’m close to snapping … and sadly, it’s not for my sake …

The Good Ole’ Days …

I’ve had some sleepless nights these last couple of weeks. Too much on my mind, I suppose. Been meaning to update this site with my latest bit of pics and such, but I just haven’t had much motivation to do so. I’m much too preoccupied with getting shit done around the house.

… still have to reassess my hardware inventory and re-administer my entire home network … dump old furniture … clean the backyard … Hell, we need a garage sale … badly …

So I like having the TV on to keep me company as I do my work or research. I was flipping through the channels and landed on “Deadliest Catch“. It’s a hard-hitting show. It’s no wonder why that job is deemed the most dangerous profession in the world.

The show brought me back to the days I’d sit with the boys – the Grouch, Win’ner, Belcher and Dru – until the wee hours of the night. We’d sit and enjoy the company of Stella. We’d fire up the XBox and ‘killed some KimChi.

I miss those boys …

For those of you whom were at PartyGras ’06 – and there were many of you – you’ll know my boy, DJ ThirdDegree. So, those in the know … know. Now, for those whom didn’t make it out to the shin-dig … you don’t know. So, sit tight and let me school you for a minute …

DJ Thirddegree spins the tunes like nobody’s business. I know everyone at PartyGras ’06 enjoyed grooving to his musical stylings.

This weekend, he’ll be dropping the beats at the Mabuhay Calgary‘s 1 Year Anniversary and Philipine Independence Day Celebration mixer. This event is aimed at bringing the Filipino social scenes of the ‘Peg and CowTown together, but it is for all to celebrate and have fun.

Drop on by and support my boy. You’ll, be glad you did …

… & write back @ ya’!

CoMa x 2 : Good on you, man. Miss those times Dru and I would chat with you, read your book after-hours at 1410. I’ll be hitting you up with tips on blogging soon enough via email.

Keep on keeping on, bro.

J.Lo : Ah … that bit. Yeah. I tend to ramble on here on my site. That just kind of came to mind. I wasn’t sure if that made any sense after I typed it out. I had to read it twice over just to make sure!

Congrats on finishing your 1st year of college. Hope you’re living it up in HK. Miss you!
